Always pick a gym that produces champions because they have a system that works. Schools with proven track records don’t have to wait around for someone talented to walk in because they can produce people from scratch. Be wary when choosing schools that are run by high profile professional fighters. A lot of those schools are filled with wannabe professional MMA fighters who just want to be around the celebrity to look cool. Training would be affected because they aren’t really there for the same goal and will not train at the intensity needed to bring up the rest of the fighters. UFC trainers don’t like their time wasted so they would have to be serious with themselves first.
